Dr. Guntram Lins
was head of financial and cultural affairs in the Vorarlberg Federal State Government from 1984 to 1994. He subsequently returned to his law firm in Bludenz. Within the Federal State his open and liberal leadership of the culture department is considered a benchmark and role model. He has provided important impetus for the development of Kunsthaus Bregenz, being a member of the board of the Friends of KUB until 2016.
Dr. Edelbert Köb
was from 1990 to 2000 the founding Director of KUB. In this function, he developed the overall concept, undertook significant development work, and established the institution’s international recognition. In 2001 he moved from Bregenz to become Director at the Museum of Modern Art (MUMOK) in Vienna’s Museumsquartier. Today Edelbert Köb lives as a freelance curator and art expert in Vienna.
was Director of KUB from 2000 to 2008. His program continued the successful work of his predecessor Dr. Edelbert Köb and further developed KUB’s profile as a leading international art institution. He subsequently became head of the PinchukArtCentre in Kiev from 2008 to 2015.
Dipl.-Ing. Jürg Zumtobel
was, in November 1996, a founding member and from then until September 2013 president of the society. The art-loving entrepreneur’s personality, his presence, and unmistakable style of doing things have contributed significantly to the success story of Kunsthaus Bregenz. His international networking in architectural circles and the museum world brought valuable impetus in achieving the worldwide importance the Kunsthaus enjoys today. Under his presidency, the Friends grew to 800 members ¬– a great vote of confidence in the success of the society’s activities. As a sponsor, he was continuously generous in supporting exhibitions, enabling the public to benefit from even more enjoyable art experiences. Through his commitment to KUB, a place where international approaches to contemporary art can be encountered, he fostered the further development of an open and cosmopolitan way of life in Vorarlberg. As a member of the supervisory board of the Vorarlberger Kulturhäuser Betriebsgesellschaft mbH (KUGES), he was and continues to be an initiator, advisor, and mediator operating in numerous areas.
Dr. Yilmaz Dziewior
was Director of KUB from the beginning of October 2009 until the end of January 2015. Under his leadership, the exhibition program was not only opened to approaches from Africa, Asia, and Latin America, but KUB Arena began exploring interdisciplinary, process-oriented, and experimental practices. In addition, he opened the KUB Collection Showcase in the former post office building next to the Kunsthaus, in which, under his aegis, highlights from the KUB collection were displayed in alternating presentations. Since February 2015 Yilmaz Dziewior has been Director of Museum Ludwig in Cologne.
